Summer lunchtime recitals, August, 2013
Music at St Martin's is aiming to run a series of 'Pick-and-Mix' lunchtime recitals on Thursdays in August, 2013, and I wonder if you would be interested in having the opportunity to give a performance at one of these events (on 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd or 29th August, 2013).
For each recital we shall be putting together a programme of about 50 minutes in total but this could consist of performances by a number of different people. This means that if you would like to offer just 10 or 20 minutes’ performance, for example, we could combine that with performances from other musicians so as to make up a complete programme.
We would expect to advertise and promote the event. The church has both an organ and a piano, either or both of which would be available for your use. The church also has a very rewarding acoustic for choral music, too.
As you may already know, Music at St Martin’s aims both to raise money towards the maintenance of the church’s fabric, and to put on good quality musical events, and any proceeds from the recitals would be used for these ends.
If you are interested, please complete and return the reply slip attached, giving information about what you propose to perform and on what instruments, as well as the date(s) on which you would prefer to play. We would very much welcome the opportunity to host you and I look forward very much to hearing from you.
