Information for Performers

Technical Requirements
We have a conductor’s podium and stand.
Although there are no sight-lines to the stage from the organ, we can install cctv.
We have an elementary lighting system, high lighting bars, which will illuminate the stage area for most purposes.

Accompaniment
There is no piano at the venue.

Loading and unloading
It is possible to unload and park in the street outside the church (space permitting).

Parking
There is no church car park. There is on-street parking around the church. There are public car parks near the railway station (see map), and on the other side of the river (if you park close to the bridge, you are not that far from the George).

Back ‘stage’ facilities
Green Room: there are two church vestries at the west end, which are lockable, and can be used by 5 or 6 people each. Larger numbers can be accommodated in the Burghley Chapel at the East End, which is semi-private. N.B. There are no toilets or washing facilities at the church. There is running cold water. There are public toilets in Stamford in Red Lion Square, which is not near the church.

Performance area
E-W is east-west: that is depth of the space from front to back
N-S is north-south (width)

In front of the altar, are two steps running the length of the communion rail, which are each 390mm deep (E-W)
In front of the steps is a flat area, 5800mm (5.8metres) wide (N-S) x 1300mm (1.3metres) deep (E-W).

The choir stalls are 2900mm long (E-W), and the space between them (N-S) is 2550mm. I didn't measure the space if they are pushed back. I suppose it must add another metre on either side, so that the space could be widened (N-S) to about 4500mm (4.5 metres)

The space at the front (normally where the lectern and flowers are) is 5400mm wide (N-S) x 4000mm deep (E-W). Some of this space is lost at the corners where the pillars are.
